JOB TITLE: Director of Nursing

REPORTS TO:

VP of Change Management

SUMMARY:

Director of Nursing is responsible for the nursing care of the patients and oversees the medical and psychiatric management of the patient coordination with the attending physician. He/she is also a member of the Treatment Team and provides input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan. He/she functions under the guidance of their State Licensure within the facility in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

  • Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (or DON), may be responsible for a variety of administrative responsibilities such as hiring and training staff, scheduling and departmental budgeting.
  • The Director of Nursing assist to oversee and manage the work and services provided by the nursing staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitates team interaction for discharge planning.

Collects and records data in a comprehensive accurate and systematic manner.

Indicates and completes Review of initial nursing assessment within 24 hours.

Knows the company’s policies and procedures.

Collaborates with the medical staff to provide medical and nursing care.

Initiates monthly nurse staff and Performance Improvement meetings.

Documents client progress/regress according to established policies and procedures.

Oversee clinical nursing activities in a safe, professional manner.

Maintains compliance with established nursing care standards.

Provides health education groups, if necessary.

Continues with educational courses and in-service trainings, per policies and procedures.

Maintains current CPR certification.

Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.

Responds positively to changing situations in the workplace.

Ability to work as a team player.

Demonstrates good communication skills.

Performs in a professional manner and role-model a positive image of mental health.

Demonstrates knowledge of medication actions, side effects, and contraindications.

Performs other tasks, as assigned.

Education / Experience

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Vocational training may be substituted for a degree.

A minimum of 3 years experience in Detox, preferably in a substance abuse program, detox or equivalent.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

Registered Nurse Licensed to practice nursing in the State of FL; maintaining current licensure per state requirements.

Maintains current CPR certification. This is a requirement.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of the Principles and Practices of the discipline.

Knowledge of Joint Commission and DCH Standards.

Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills.

Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.

Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.

Knowledge of Workplace Violence.

Knowledge of Federal NTP regulations

Knowledge of electronic medical systems is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
