Director of Marketing Technology
ASU Enterprise Partners is an efficient network of highly skilled teams; it is comprised of a full complement of professional services that work in concert with specialized business units to provide full resources and extend Arizona State University’s ability to achieve its charter.
The Director of Marketing Technology will achieve the vision of an enterprise Marketing Technology strategy and platform(s) for Enterprise Partners and the Outreach Hub, in service to the university and our alumni. The position will be responsible for the identification, planning and implementation of digital marketing technologies to complete a best-in-class environment and technology platform. The position will design and direct the program and support services, manage resources and project plans, and ensure the achievement of the program vision though rigorous adherence to design processes and methods, agile project management, and interdepartmental and cross-campus relationship building. The position is dedicated to this strategy and platform and reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
What you’ll do:
- Directs the implementation (planning and execution), ongoing strategic program management, and continuous innovation of current and future digital marketing technology platforms and tools
- Represent Enterprise Partners’ interests in governance and policymaking negotiations with university partners on an ongoing basis
- Collaborate with Outreach Hub, ASU Marketing Hub, EdPlus and Enterprise Technology to continuously improve the digital marketing technology ecosystem to support university-wide, marketing-related activities, roles, and systems
- Lead digital marketing technology initiatives with a focus on mobile engagement, personalization, advanced web development and seamless integration with operational systems
- Direct and lead teams to ensure alignment and integration of key systems including CRM, e-mail, SMS, content management systems, user authentication and social login, API and data feeds
- Evaluate and continuously improve key loyalty and marketing apps.
- Develop and enhance tracking mechanisms to monitor success and report outcomes to leadership and key stakeholders
- Serve as ultimate troubleshooting resource for all digital marketing technology issues from Enterprise Partners and affinity partners
- In partnership with Technology and Solutions leadership, manage the integration with Enterprise Partners systems and university partners’ Salesforce instances
- Implement training on systems and customer service methods to provide a delightful user experience
- Build relationships with university colleagues, Enterprise Partners staff, and vendors in order to foster trust and collegiality in ongoing usage of a shared, cross-unit environment
- Ensure affinity partners’ (alumni and athletics) requirements are integrated and achieved within the larger scope of the CRM deployment and management
- Research emerging technologies, deliver quarterly reports of opportunities, and implement as appropriate
- Brand the program to elicit a positive reaction from colleagues and system users
- Position Enterprise Partners as an industry leader by presenting at conferences and communicating with industry peers through blogs and social media
- Act as product manager for necessary custom-developed software including identifying user needs, creating and prioritizing user stories, and collaborating with third-party or in-house developers in agile development framework to continuously deploy needed features and systems
- Build a high-performing team including, but not limited to scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews
- Cultivate a culture of trust, innovation, and entrepreneurship

- Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans
- Possess strong technical expertise in the Microsoft computer operating system and platform
- Possess and maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of multiple digital marketing platforms including, but not limited to: Google, Tealium, and Salesforce
- Understanding of web applications and web services
- Knowledge of current government regulations and their impact on the privacy and security of information
Relevant qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or closely related field AND
- At least four (4) years of implementing, administering and utilizing digital marketing technologies,
- OR any equivalent combinations of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree in Information Technology or closely related field preferred
- Familiarity with advancement/development preferred
- Previous work experience in higher education preferred
