Overview:
Oversees all areas of the Imaging Services. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the practice of Radiology and applies that knowledge to the operation of the Imaging Department. Demonstrates compliance with Hospital/Department policies and procedures and provides positive leadership skills. Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
  • Licensed by the State of Illinois and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) required
Experience:
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in the management of a department of equal or more extensive resources is preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Is administratively responsible for all imaging modalities and the business logistics of the department.
  • Initiates and interprets hospital goals, objectives, and procedures to department personnel within his/her control.
  • Serves as an advisor to the Chief Physician Services Officer in radiographic imaging matters.
  • Serves as a member of various hospital committees.
  • Participates with other department heads of the management team to effectively coordinate the hospital's operational activities and goals.
  • Serves as the technical liaison between department radiologists and hospital administration.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and supports, hospital mission, vision, pillars, behavioral standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of conduct.
  • Completes required Corporate Compliance training hours as dictated by regulatory organization(s).
  • Actively oversees quality assessment and quality improvement programs within the imaging department.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with all providers seeking to provide services at Passavant Hospital.
  • Maintain continuing education credits in compliance with licensing agency.
  • Assists in orientation of department and hospital personnel with emphasis on radiation safety.
  • Evaluates and counsels employees relative to performance, conduct, attendance and adherence to hospital/department rules and regulations. Monitor competency of all personnel
  • Recommends hiring, promotion, discipline and other administrative action to the OMT Leader and Director of HR.
  • Maintains efficient and effective department operation while ensuring compliance with all JCAHO, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
  • Approves and processes time cards.
  • Completes operational and capital budgets.
  • Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric
  • Administers x-rays to patients and operates Imaging equipment as needed.
  • Works continuously to provide patients with a great experience when rendering services of the Imaging Department.
  • Performs other related work as required or requested.
