Director of Human Resources

Aventura at Prospect is looking to add a full-time Director of Human Resources to its team.

Job Description and Responsibilities :
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing facility human resources functions, including employee recruitment and retention, employee relations and administration and personnel policy administration.
Responsibilities:

  • Conducts full cycle recruiting and participates in/coordinates on-boarding process.
  • Assists in the resolution of employee relations issues/concerns. Works with administrator and managers as needed to prevent re-occurrences.
  • Provides support, information, guidance, and coaching as needed.
  • Assures disciplinary procedure is followed and supported by appropriate documentation in conjunction with the administrator and department manager.
  • Maintains employee personnel and medical files in accordance with associated regulations.
  • Assures an accurate and updated system of performance evaluation, employee license tracking, employee physicals, and vaccines through use of the HR Tracker.
  • Reviews all hired employee records for completeness i.e.: reference checks, employment history, required licenses, CORI checks and any other required paperwork.
  • Maintains tracking system for LOA/FMLA requests and approvals.
  • Plans, organizes, develops, implements, and interprets the programs, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures that relate to the HR function,
  • Attends local career fairs.
  • Engages in rounding for outcomes with staff and recognizes staff or a job well done.
  • Coordinates employee satisfaction efforts with facility leadership
  • Helps develop, implement and maintain employee recognition and satisfaction programs.
  • Coordinates employee satisfaction survey efforts with facility leadership team.
  • Understands employees’ rights in accordance with HIPPA and holds all employee information confidential.
  • Coordinates worker’s compensation program and assures thorough investigations are done and communicated in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator.

Requirements :

  • Must have knowledge of Human Resource programs and regulations such as FMLA and COBRA
  • Experience in healthcare (Long Term Care highly preferred)
  • Must be familiar with full cycle recruitment and discipline/corrective action
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
  • Must communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines and possess excellent organizational skills.
