Reporting to the CHRO/COO, the Director of Human Resources will lead all aspects of Human Resources (HR) for CHC. This role will establish, lead and enforce CHC policies and standards related to our most important asset – our people. The Director of HR ensures legal compliance and implementation of CHC’s mission and talent strategy and frequently evaluates what’s working (and what’s not) in order to meet the needs of all employees while balancing the business objectives of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and develops HR staff members
- Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department, including but not limited to:
- Recruiting (overall strategy and direction)
- Performance Management (development, corrective action, terminations)
- Workplace Investigations
- Payroll/HRIS (wage and hour compliance)
- Employee Relations
- Training and Development
- Workers Compensation
- Leaves of Absence
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
- Supervises 2 to 3 direct reports
General Duties/Responsibilities
- Collaborates with CHRO/COO to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's HR compliance and strategic objectives.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to CHRO/COO.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes strategies and best practices for hiring and talent management.
- In collaboration with CHRO/COO, develops and implements HR budget.
Administers or oversees the administration of HR programs including, but not limited to:- Compensation, benefits, and leave
- Disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations
- Performance management
- Recruiting and talent management
- Productivity, recognition, and morale
- Occupational health and safety (workplace safety, disaster preparedness, workers comp, ergonomic evaluations, etc.)
- Training initiatives for CHC staff
- Leadership development
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including a collection of data, creation of various reports, and review of metrics from CHC’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and/or talent management system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
- Minimum of five years of Human Resources management experience required
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred

Salary Range:
$140,000 - $170,000
- The starting base pay for this position is as shown above. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
