Longwood Gardens is seeking a Director of Employee Experience, responsible for the continuous evolution of our collaborative workplace experience. This individual will lead efforts that encourage employee engagement through the development of innovative programs and tools based on staff-centered analytics and qualitative insight. The ideal candidate will have experience leveraging technology to improve communications and access to information for staff. This individual will:

  • Develop human capital metrics to assess employee engagement and identify key drivers of performance and retention.
  • Utilize staff surveys, listening sessions, and other vehicles to understand the staff experience through the employee life cycle and propose enhancements to existing processes.
  • Partner with leaders and the HR team to design and implement engagement and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access) programs tailored to staff needs and interests.
  • Lead digital transformation efforts to improve employee interactions, efficiency, and access to information.
  • Lead project plans and staff change management efforts to ensure the successful implementation of new initiatives
  • Establish employee-centered communications that reinforce Longwood values and enhance employees’ daily work experience.
  • Benchmark workplace trends with an eye towards continually evolving to meet the needs of Longwood staff.


We seek a strategic HR professional who is passionate about supporting an inclusive, collaborative culture. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in HR, Employee Engagement, or HR Analytics.
  • Experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business major preferred
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively regarding employee engagement strategies
  • Proven ability to lead successful change management efforts
  • Demonstrated project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytic skills, including advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A proactive and approachable leadership style
  • A reputation as a trusted partner in all interactions (clients, staff, and team).
