The Director, Clinical/Vocational & Vendor Management is responsible defining, developing, implementing and leading all aspects of the Clinical and Vocational services for the claims organization. Effectively manage the performance of clinical care and vocational rehabilitation managers and programs ensuring quality, effectiveness, efficiency and service delivery. Collaborate with claims leadership, internal and external business partners to achieve business objectives and impact business results. Promote a culture that values return to work and develop programs to support and facilitate return to work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the clinical and vocational teams including, but not limited to, maintaining internal customer service metrics and report quality
- Collaborate with other members of the claims leadership team to identify gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Supporting and executing claim management initiatives that positively impact business results
- Review, revise, and/or create best practices for the clinical and vocational team to ensure a consistent work product across team members
- Anticipates future trends and challenges, developing and implementing strategies to address opportunities.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, such as Return to Work (RTW) and OneAmerica Ways of Operations initiatives, that strive to meet and exceed business expectations
- Liaise with the Vendor Management department to ensure vendor contracts utilized by the claims department are current
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. in Business, Nursing, Vocational Rehabilitation, or related field
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Case Manager (CCM) or Certified Leave Management Professional (CLMP)
- Minimum of five years demonstrated leadership/management experience, preferably in medical/vocational STD/LTD disability arena.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical management and rehabilitation processes, disability insurance policies, legal issues and resources.
- Thoroughly understands the claims process to support the successful management of OA’s philosophy.
- Strong operational orientation.
Salary Band: 07A
This selected candidate will be expected to work Hybrid in Portland, ME. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
