What We Seek

At Caden Care Homecare we are looking for dependable caring and compassionate Direct Care Workers toprovide emotional support and non-medical services that improve the lives of clients. Direct care workers support in activities such as meal prep, laundry, light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, etc.) escorting to a Doctor appointments errands and grocery shopping. Must also be able to work with those that are physically disabled and/or those that have intellectual disabilities where focusing on community integration is key.

Client homes are located throughout Allegheny and Westmorland County including but not limited to: Irwin, Greensburg, Jeannette, Clifton, New Kensington, Bethel Park, Fox Chapel, North Hills, South Hills. Direct care workers must be able to travel to client homes to provide care.

Job Responsibilities

• Light Housekeeping – including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, dry mopping, dishwashing, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, and changing beds
• Laundry and linen service to include washing, ironing and folding clothes.
• Prepares meals and snacks according to care plan - this may include following a specialized diet plan as identified on the care plan
• Shopping service to clients for grocery and clothes.
• Escort clients to doctor appointments, friends, family members, or stores.
• Monitor client supplies/inventory
• Observe and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance
• Follow a written care plan and maintain records of daily activities
• Provides companionship for the client. This includes accompanying client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, assistance with hobbies, etc
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Reliable mode of transportation and/or Drivers License required.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Updated 2 step TB test

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
