NEEDED: Dental Hygienist

LOCATION: FCP Montgomery, 1001 Willow Street, Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, AL 36112

SCHEDULE: 30 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., excluding Federal holidays.

DUTIES:

• Provide dental prophylaxis on inmates who are referred by the dental staff
• Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient
• Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis.
• Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist
• Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the dental staff
• Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis as directed by dental staff
• Responsible for receiving patients and explaining procedures to alleviate undue anxiety, and submitting reports and evaluations as requested

REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:

• Two (2) years of experience providing Dental Hygienist services
• Bilingual oral communication skills desired but not required
• Must possess specialty training from a licensed Dentist and or certification from an accredited Dental Hygienist school.
• Must be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Health Association.
