Position Summary
To provide chair side assistance to a licensed dentist and to instruct and assist dental students in four-handed dentistry.
The employee will provide chair side assistance to dentists and dental students in a variety of specialties which include but not limited to: Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Pedodontics, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. The employee will work under the general supervision of the dental assistant supervisor in the sophomore, junior and senior clinic, post graduate clinics, General Practice Residency Program and the Emergency Dental Clinic at the LSUHSC School of Dentistry.

Special Instructions Summary
This is a Civil Service Position. There is a Special Entrance Rate (
SER
) of $15.05 per hour for this title with an additional $2.25 per hour worked available for candidates that hold a current
DANB
(Dental Assisting National Board) certification.
This position does not require applicants to take a Civil Service test.
Pre-employment Drug testing and Criminal Background check are required.
