Data Center Services Specialist – IT Data center Ops
Texas Health Resources is looking for top skilled Data Center Services Specialist. Is that you?
Work location: Richardson Data Bank, 904 Quality Way Richardson TX 75081 & Dallas Data Bank, 400 South Akard St, Dallas, TX 75202
Work hours: Full Time Days (Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm) for 40 hrs/week.

Here’s What You Need
Education
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent (Required) and
- Associate's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Services, or relevant experience in lieu of a degree (Required)
Experience
- 3 Years Experience in IT related field with experience as a Data Center support engineer/Network(cisco/avaya/brocade)/Server Engineer (unix/linux/windows). (Required) and
- Healthcare experience (preferred)
License and Certifications
- Foundations and operations certified (Preferred)
What You Will Do
- Manage and enforce data center standards, including: Security/access controls both physical and virtual to data center resources. Asset and inventory management of all devices in the data center space. Audit and manage power/cooling consumption and the associated costs.
- Be the primary contact between any manage services/facilities support and THR's ITS and its customers. Ensure adequate power and cooling resources are always available and sustainable. Work to ensure the most efficient use of power and cooling is measured and improvement opportunities are targeted and planned for achievement. Stay current and abreast of existing technology and potential future changes related to data center facilities-including power/cooling/physical security (ISO standards) and imminent or potential threats. Be proactive in the space planning within the data center for power/cooling/network/cabinet space for incoming and outgoing systems.
- Audit all activates are documented and tracked through the ITS Service Management system.
- Perform regular audits and assessments of security controls impacting the data center and services provided.
- Validate and audits process and procedures are documented and updated for internal ITS and business consumption through established mechanisms: ITSM KM or GRC
- Interface with the internal support teams and the Portfolio Operations Management team to ensure new or updated systems are properly accounted for in the asset/inventory tool set.
- Audit inventory and asset management systems to ensure are 100% accurate. Manages and Maintains Data Center Services
- Responsible for installation/de-installation of all server/storage/network/facility/security systems impacting business and clinical applications/services positioned in the data center facilities.
- Interface with the internal support teams and the portfolio operations management team to ensure new or updated systems are properly accounted for in the asset/inventory systems.
- Respond to any number of alarms, alerts or abnormal behaviors detected through reactive or proactive monitoring.
- Continually validates monitoring configurations and thresholds are meeting business and technical team's needs.
- Perform routine health checks over and above automated monitoring to ensure the quickest detection time for service affecting issues.
- Ensures all activates are documented and tracked through the ITS Service Management system.
- Ensure all security related issues are tracked through the Governance Risk Compliance system.
- Ensure inventory and asset management systems are 100% accurate.
- Be proactive in the space planing within the data center for power/cooling/network/cabinet space for incoming and outgoing systems.
- Continually work to improve and increase individual skills and capabilities to improve the service and effectiveness of the whole team.
- Continually updates configuration documentation and ensures these changes are coordinated and made in collaboration with the Technology Security Operations Center.
