The schedule for this role is 8am - 5pm.
Purpose and Impact:
The Data Analyst I position supports the LSF Health Systems Data Division through the data analysis process. This process includes: (a) data collection and organization, (b) data quality and validation, (c) data reporting and visualization, and (d) data analysis and interpretation. The data analysis process supports internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, contracts, grants) and external stakeholders (e.g., State of Florida, healthcare providers).
Essential Functions:
- Supports Director of Data Analytics and data team leaders by collaboratively producing data deliverables.
- Active and consistently contributes to the data analysis process.
- Data collection and organization
- Data quality and validation
- Data reporting and visualization
- Data analysis and interpretation
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to meet data needs.
- Actively and collaboratively participates in meetings and conferences.

Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge:
Demonstrated and Developing Level
- Previously demonstrated and currently developing communication skills including verbally, visually (data visualizations), and written.
- Previously demonstrated and currently developing customer service skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to communicate with tact, patience, and courtesy with internal and external stakeholders as well as use diplomacy in dealing with difficult customers and delivery of services.
- Previously demonstrated and currently developing interpersonal skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to establish and maintain effective one-on-one and group work relationships, both inside and outside of the department and agency.
- Previously demonstrated and currently developing ability to self-develop relevant job-related skill(s) for current and future roles (e.g., take initiative to participate in additional education and training)
- Previously demonstrated and currently developing ability to identify, take ownership of, and troubleshoot and solve complex problems independently.
- Previously demonstrated and currently developing ability to coordinate projects (e.g., meetings, deliverable collection)
- Previously demonstrated and currently developing ability to use data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI as part of team and beginning to create visualizations independently with some mentoring or supervision.

- Accomplished in at least 75% the data analysis process: (a) data collection and organization, (b) data quality and validation, (c) data reporting and visualization, and (d) data analysis and interpretation.
- Accomplished skills, knowledge, and experience with databases (e.g., SQL, Access)
- Accomplished skills and knowledge of and experience with analyzing datasets (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R Suite)
Proficient Level
- Proficient ability to understand and follow specific instructions, priorities, policies, and procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, policies, personal computers, operating systems, and related software applications.
Physical Requirements:
Energy, persistence, and stamina sufficient for functioning independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
Education:
- Minimum: bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or equivalent field
- Preferred: master’s degree from accredited institution in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or equivalent field
Experience:
- Minimum: two years of experience related to this position
- Preferred: three or more years of experience related to this position

Principal Accountabilities:
- Reports to the Director of Data Analytics
- Supports the data analysis process.
- Deliver accurate, complete, and timely submissions of all required reports, performance measures or benchmarks, trends, and analyses.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders including other analysts.
