This developmental role is specifically designed to bring recent college graduates into the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) business as part of a structured program that allows for learning the fundamentals of the retail position combined with opportunity for special projects and training aligned against professional development. Leadership mentoring and exposure aligned to training projects will position this associate for career opportunities. This position requires possible future mobility for advancement opportunities.

The Customer Development Manager – Development (CDM-D)) is responsible for developing and growing sales volume for our client in their assigned stores. This will be accomplished by creating advocate relationships with store operations personnel at the store and market level and utilizing fact-based selling for POS impact. Additionally, the CDM-D will be assigned various projects for two days each week that will allow them a variety of learning and skill development opportunities (analytical, critical thinking, developing others, etc) that will prepare them for future career opportunities within Advantage Solutions and/or with our client. These two days will be mostly based at home with occasional time needed at the client HQ in Town & Country.

 Developing and leveraging relationships with key influence and decision makers in assigned stores, markets, and regions

 Delivering consistent market & region level contact as per DRT standards

 Demonstrates strong selling skills; Utilizes Selling Cycle, Fact Based Selling including POS and Selling Tools on Doclocker and Pitchbook

 Establishes themselves as a Category Expert at store and Market Levels

Initiative

 Proactive in addressing opportunities and solving problems that will increase results without prompting from others.

 Takes action to capitalize on POS growth opportunities

 Accepts Special Projects and completes with strong results in timely manner

Organizing and Planning

 Follows DRT sales call standards and effectively orchestrates a call coverage plan that meets the business needs of our client and the retail customer.

 Administration/Reporting: complete accurate and timely paperwork, reports, recaps, itineraries, timesheets, expense reports, etc

 Flexible to meet any special project opportunities without impacting territory results.

Focus Competency: Business Analysis and/or Developing Others

 Business Analysis: Training focus against turning data into actionable insights for retail team, creating execution results reports, sales tools and other RCSM responsibilities in preparation for a potential RCSM role

 Developing Others: Training focus to assist in learning key skills required to Coach and Develop others, Teambuilding Skills including Interviewing and Hiring skills and Leadership Skills in preparation for RS role as next career opportunity.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree Required

Required Skills:  Superior verbal and written communication skills including ability to translate ideas and concepts into retailer benefits  Competence with Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint & Excel)  Strong self-management skills Other Requirements:  Must perform the job safely and utilize proper safety techniques and use of equipment when appropriate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,500.00 per year
