Our law firm is rapidly expanding with offices in Maryland, DC, Virginia & Florida. There are many opportunities to enhance your leadership skills, work ethic, and you will be introduced to work in a team-oriented environment.
Our Criminal department provides guidance and support to our clients, ensuring their rights are protected through the Criminal Justice System. In this role, you will collaboratively work with attorneys and other team members across the department to assist in many trial preparations, case intakes and client communication.
Criminal Defense Paralegal Responsibilities Include:
- Assist attorneys with all stages of case investigation and litigation, as well as with other administrative and office maintenance tasks
. Assist in trial preparation.
. Provide a high-quality level of client support.
. Potential new client intakes
- Request public records and tracking requests
- Perform case opening and closing procedures
- Participate in client/witness outreach and interviews, including inside jails/prisons
- Drafting letters and simple legal filings
- Reviewing memoranda of law and other legal documents
- Reviewing and coordinating discovery
Qualifications:
- Must be fluent in both Spanish and English
- Paralegal program certificate or an associate degree in legal studies is preferred, but not required
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing substantive legal work
- Ability to multitask, prioritize completing tasks, and to meet deadlines
- Possess a high standard of professional and ethical conduct, integrity, and discretion
- Familiarity with the Needles and/ or other case management software's

Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
