To support our mission, you will take over the overall operational responsibility for your vessels, ensure effective day-to-day crewing operation, focus on long term planning of officers, arrange crew changes, visit your ships and support a good working environment and personal interaction between ship and shore.

Job responsibilities:

Adequate manning of your assigned ships in all relevant crew operation items, such as e.g.

    Recruiting, planning and executing long term relief rotation and crew change arrangements

    Checking and updating of seafarer’s documents for assigned vessels, applying for flag state documents, controlling of agency statements of account, applying for visa and updating information in our HR system

    Assessing the performance of your crew and managing their career in close cooperation with your colleagues in Crewing / Fleet

    Building up a close and personal relationship to your seafarers and their representatives

    Ensuring a good dialogue with our Superintendents, Ship Operators and other relevant Oldendorff departments

    Intensifying contact to our crewing offices / agencies who represent Oldendorff in the home countries of our seafarers

    Establishing a close cooperation with our globally distributed port agents on travel arrangements (flight bookings / visa handling etc.) and other relevant topics

    Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and commercial requirements

What you bring along:

    Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of Crewing / HR or Shipping

    You are recognized by others having a high sense of urgency, an eye on strategy and a structured mind-set

    You show the ability to manage, drive and develop the assigned tasks pro-actively and hands-on

    You are a good communicator with strong networking / interpersonal skills who follows an entrepreneurial approach

    You are a motivated team player, who likes to take ownership of your assigned area

    Your friends describe you as a service-oriented person with strong organizational skills

    You are prepared to travel as required to attend seminars, visit vessels or maintain interoffice relations within our global network of crewing offices

    You possess great social skills and you approach your work with professionalism and humour
