The City of Norfolk's Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking a Groundskeeper Crew Leader (Crew Leader- Ocean View). The Crew Leader supervises ground maintenance activities. The Crew Leader will be responsible for keeping logs and records to monitor various equipment maintenance and activities. The incumbent will manage the maintenance of grounds and landscaping and perform and supervises the daily maintenance of equipment. Supervises emergency response.

Essential functions include but are not limited:

• 
  Performs all aspects of bed maintenance to include chemical spraying, mulching, hedge and shrub trimming, tree pruning, mowing, weed trimming, and edging.
• Supervises ground maintenance activities by scheduling, training and assigning duties, taking service requests, completing time sheets, keeping work records and logs, conducting performance evaluations and conducting daily team meetings.
• Supervises and trains employees ant temporary workers.
• Job plans and projects future maintenance requirements.
• Supervises emergency response.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.

One years' experience in groundskeeper and supervisory or lead experience.
