We currently need a COURIER/MAILROOM SPECIALIST. This is a fast-paced position, which involves logging in incoming mail and preparing documents to go into our high speed scanners. This position also includes driving (company vehicle- Ford Transit) locally to pick up documents. Requires driver license and clean driving record. The job is based in our downtown office, 1800 SW 1st Avenue, Portland, Oregon. Public transportation is easily accessible.
Qualifications for the Job:
- Attitude is where it all starts! We are looking for people who want to make a career commitment, love to learn, have a lot of energy and come to work with a great team spirit and a ‘whatever it takes’ attitude.
- Experience using office equipment such as scanners or copiers is a plus.
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds repetitively throughout the day
- Typing- at least 35 to 40 wpm and ability to do some work on a computer
- Ability to stand and sit during shifts
- A strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work quickly and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Ability to work with occasional requests for flexible scheduling based on production workflow needs
Day shift, Monday thru Friday- 6:00 am start time is preferable
Pay rate - $17.25 hr starting wage with an additional 58 cents per hour if taking Tri-Met to work.
