Job Description

Huntington is in search of a Copywriter/Editor to join our in-house agency. Joining our team would mean that you’re surrounded by talented, dedicated, creative thinkers focused on creating and refining every aspect of Huntington’s brand identity. You would be at the forefront of refining our tone of voice and making sure our messages are meaningful and clear to Private Bank and Commercial audiences. In addition to concepting ideas and writing for a variety of marketing tactics, the position includes a steady stream of editing, revising, and copy refinement of detailed, technical messaging for financially-savvy audiences. Finally, the role requires that you will have a voice in defining and advising on the future of Huntington’s brand identity.

Key Responsibilities

This role reports to the Brand Manager, Sr. and sits on a team that we’d call the most unique and fun group at the bank (but shhh, don’t tell the others).

• Writing copy and concepting
  • You will be producing original writing that clearly communicates the marketing message, as well as editing copy from other agencies and segments of the bank.
  • You will be concepting marketing platforms for the Private and Commercial audiences alongside a designer, and other team members.
• Refining creative concepts
  • You will be refining and updating advertising and marketing messages. Proofing and editing will be part of the daily routine – expect to proof monthly market research, stock market insights, and existing marketing materials than may need a new coat of creative polish.
• Defining and Guiding our Voice
  • Your contributions will also help to ensure consistency in our tone of voice across all communications such as creative concepts, customers communications, and other marketing and advertising-driven initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or related field
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Copywriter Editor

Preferred Qualifications

• Advertising copywriting experience
• Proofing and/or editing experience
• Listens and communicates well and is open to feedback
• Self-motivated writer who can also collaborate on a moment’s notice
• Understands the various customer segments the bank serves (consumer, private bank, business banking, and commercial)
• Works well in a fast-paced environment
