Job description

This cook is technically skilled to assist in daily food production. This cook has no supervisory obligations, but must be ready to follow instructions in order to accomplish daily goals in both producing food and cleaning.

SKILLS AND DUTIES REQUIRED:

  • Basic understanding of mathematics applying to recipes and measurements.
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Maintain, clean, and arrange the workstation and all used kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to use and respect the standards and procedures set by the Company during production, participate in the handling of the goods, help with the setup and breakdown of buffets, and assist in the supply and the presentation of buffets following the standards and procedures as set by the Company.
  • Clear and clean buffets, excellent communication skills with cultural sensitivity and understanding.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • + 2 years’ experience in the kitchen
  • Culinary Certificate preferred
  • Must possess proper knife skills in order to maintain the highest possible safety standards
  • H.S. Diploma

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and perform certain body movements for a period of 5 to 8 hours.
  • Ability to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and/or 20lbs. of force frequently to move objects
  • Must be able to work in conditions of noise, heat, and cold.
  • Must be available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
