General Job Description:
We are hiring a part-time cook to prepare and serve food to the residents of our Assisted Living / Memory Care community. You will be working with a team who focuses on exceeding expectations by using their talents to follow recipes and prepare delicious meals, keeping high sanitary standards through hot meal service, as well as cold food items, and desserts. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Our cooks will be required to follow a menu to prepare meat, fish, poultry, gravies, cereal, soups, vegetables, desserts, snacks, and other foods served in our community. Our cook will identify grocery needs, and date / store incoming product, track inventory. Our cook will be responsible for overall cleanliness of everything related to the kitchen. Our cook will perform duties safely, and in compliance with best practices. This cook should be able to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team. They are expected to jump in to assist with service prep, and delivery of meals... as needed.
Grumpy negative people need not apply.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
The cook is expected to provide multiple diet preparation, including puree, mechanical soft, fine chip, regular, etc. The cook should be aware of (or able to learn) the regulatory requirement of this role. Being a team player is important, with a willingness to step outside of the usual responsibilities of the role to support the population that we service.
Qualifications for the job:
High School Diploma and 3 years’ experience.
May consider alternate educational / experiential skills as relevant.
Food handlers / ServSafe (or willing to obtain)
CPR / First Aid (or willing to obtain)

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift / carry / move large pieces of cookware. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Including squatting / stooping / twisting / reaching / carrying up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work inside of a humid, warm work area; and successfully use a variety of kitchen tools.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
