Responsibilities:
- Make menu items to meet quality, portion, and time standards while using equipment and materials properly
- Maintain line cleanliness and sanitation (cutting boards, floor, trash, slicer, and walk-in areas)
- Maintain a working knowledge of the menu, vendors, and products in the deli
- Prioritize time to ensure that prep work, stocking, cleaning, and customer service are handled efficiently
- Operate grill using correct temperature and cleanliness, grilling items to standards in proper order
- Check in orders; put away freight in a timely manner and report any potentially unsafe conditions
- Follow department procedures for processing known loss, invoices, and special orders
- Model respectful communications with co-workers; practice behaviors that exhibit a strong work ethic and encourage teamwork
- Anticipate guest and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment
- Monitor own work to ensure quality; looks for ways to improve sales and promote quality
- Attend all Deli department meetings and perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Restaurant or deli experience required
- Passion for cooking and excellent customer service
- Able and willing to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Thrives as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions
- Food safety certified by the State of Idaho
- Ability to comprehend instructions, recipes & training materials
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance, adhere to scheduled shifts, be ready to work when shift begins

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
