Fluidra is seeking a Contract Logistics Specialist to join the team at our CMP facility in Newnan, GA or in our Carlsbad, CA Headquarters. This contract will be approximately 6 months to cover a maternity leave.

  • Please note. You must be located in either the San Diego, Ca or Atlanta, GA area in order to be considered for this position.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The Logistics Specialist will focus on our Custom Molded Product daily business needs directly working with the Trade Compliance Manager. Will effectively coordinate the import, export, shipping & receiving process to serve our domestic and global customer base through effective communication, documentation processing, and accurate handling of our goods and services. Also work closely with Freight Forwarders and other departments to ensure cost-effective transportation by utilizing company resources and evaluating customer needs and research transportation methods. Actively applies ‘best practices’ to improve logistics processes and utilize technology enhancements.

Additionally, you will:

  • Assist and coordinate International & Domestic transportation with overseas sister companies and Distribution centers
  • Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with suppliers and coworkers
  • Communicate effectively with the other supply chain departments (engineering, planning, product, procurement, customer service, Distribution Center)
  • Drive improvement by implementing Continuous Improvement principals and lean thinking
  • Good written communication - heavy internal email traffic
  • Analyze and resolve delivery issues in a timely fashion
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer's requests and inquiries via phone and email
  • Work with other departments and verify consignees are not on the Consolidated Screening List
  • Monitor containers throughout inland and ocean voyages
  • Confirms import customs clearance process with brokerage companies upon arrival
  • Maintain proper HTS / schedule B codes up to date
  • Perform monthly documentation audits for imports and exports
  • Maintains records of all trade transactions
  • Coordination of import/export shipment activities.

WHAT WE SEEK
  • 2+ years of hands-on logistics execution (internship experience is applicable)
  • Knowledge of import/export shipping documentation to include BOLs
  • Working knowledge of freight forwarding methodology and international trade terminology, including Incoterms
  • Knowledge of HTS codes and Customs regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and functions under pressure to meet strict delivery requirements
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (preferred) - writing, oral, and interpersonal communications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be team oriented and a team leader with a positive attitude in working with others
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast past, changing environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Must be detailed-oriented
  • Knowledge of International Shipping documentation (CF7501, CF3461, Custom Release)
  • Working knowledge of freight forwarding methodology and international trade terminology, including incoterms, customs regulations, HTS Classification
