Structural Steel Estimator

We are located in Bay Shore NY. Our address is 225 Pine Aire Drive, Bay Shore NY, 11706. Our ideal candidate will be local to the New York metro area.

A metal fabrication and erecting company is positioned for significant growth in the future and is in search of Junior and Senior Estimators. The Estimator will report to the owner of the company. He/she should be a self-starter, able to work independently, be a team player and can interact well with others. Must be able to work under pressure, be organized, accurate and must not lose sight of the fine details.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Review drawings to prepare time, materials, and labor estimates (take off)

· Obtain pricing for all materials, equipment, delivery costs and other costs related to the specific job

· Develop job cost estimates

· Prepare and submit detailed bid packages accurately, timely and with aggressive follow-ups regarding bid status

· To effectively incorporate change orders and add-ons into the scope of the project

· Maintain bid lists and follow-ups on Excel spreadsheet

Skills required:

· Capable of reading and comprehending structural and architectural drawings

· Ability to communicate well in writing and verbally

· Ability to negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms on required elements for a job

· Microsoft office products

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour
