Position Summary: The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the organization’s ongoing compliance with state and federal laws, including compliance with state-licensed facility regulations, payer requirements, and industry best practices. Additionally, this position must maintain relationships with state regulators and provide compliance support to internal leadership.
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations at state-licensed facilities, including regular on-site visits
  • Serve as a liaison and subject-matter expert to the staff on license rules and related procedures
  • Remain current on changes to license requirements
  • Work collaboratively across the organization with other departments to maintain compliance
  • Leading efforts to achieve licensure at new and expanding programs
  • Recognize areas of compliance and licensing-related risk and work collaboratively with staff and leaders to identify solutions and facilitate change
  • Develop new policies as needed and coordinate the review/update of existing policies regularly, including implementation with staff
  • Conduct quarterly audits to ensure compliance with state regulations
  • Leads state-licensing reviews, including working with the applicable state licensing authority as needed to clarify licensing expectations
  • Support of and participation in organization-wide compliance activities
  • Conduct staff trainings on applicable topics, as needed
  • Perform other compliance functions, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1+ year of experience in healthcare compliance required or relevant advanced degree / certificate or relevant healthcare experience may be substituted for healthcare compliance experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates a "can-do" spirit, a sense of optimism, ownership, and commitment.

Education
Preferred
