Key Responsibilities for the Controls Programmer:
- Design PLC-based combustion control systems that conform to the requirements of NFPA 86.
- Review customer specifications and mechanical designs to ensure technical and functional requirements are met.
- Determine suitability of instrumentation and controls equipment.
- Design and check P&IDs and electrical schematics
- Create Bill of Material and other documentation for order processing and customer submittal.
- Write specifications and obtain quotations for instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Create PLC and HMI programs for combustion controls systems.
- Documentation of controls manuals, functional descriptions, and other job records.
- Commissions control systems on customer’s site (Travel Requirement: up to 25%)
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with an electrical/programming background (Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical).
- 2+ years of professional controls engineering experience, preferred. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC platforms.
- Proficient in development of PLC and HMI programs.
- AutoCAD-Electrical experience is desirable, but not required.
- Ability to design Panels and Level 1 Control Systems for custom applications.
