Summary:
As the machinist, you would be responsible for setting up and operating our CNC and Manual machines, as well as assisting with other jobs around the shop. Work within a team environment to improve cycle times and operational flow, as well as being part of the problem-solving process. Help develop standards related to operations, such as setup sheets, inspection sheets and training manuals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform setups on Mills, Lathes and Manual Machines
- Hold tight tolerances, no more than +/- .005
- Troubleshoot tooling or program issues
- Inspect part with minimal supervision
- Document setups, tooling, cycle times and inspections
- Edit programs when needed
- Continual improvement of skills
- Keep area well organized
- High efficiency while setting up or operating machines
- Make sure parts are free of sharp or rough edges unless specified
What you’ll bring:
- 5 years CNC Lathe/ Mill experience
- Setup Machines with multiple offsets or operations
- Ability to edit programs • Ability to read prints
- Good multitasking skills
- Ability to fully inspect part to drawing dimensions and tolerances
- Full knowledge of tooling and best applications to use per drawing
- Must know how to use calipers, micrometers and other standard measuring equipment

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
