The Cloud Team is a small, efficient group that works to architect, create, deploy, and monitor the cloud infrastructure and services used by Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove. By utilizing and developing automated pipeline for deployment, the team maintains our corporate standards and principles within the cloud environment. The team also uses best practices and business trends to push cloud adoption across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

The Cloud Engineer II role focuses on empowering the business to rapidly innovate in a secure, automated, and efficient cloud environment. The role will support transitioning locally hosted infrastructure to the cloud, the administration of the cloud environments to meet the business’s ever-changing technical needs and advise the business on new cloud technologies that can assist in meeting business objectives.

The individual in this role must understand infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS). Being able to understand and conceptualize cloud infrastructure and services from both a technical and a business perspective will be important.

• Create requirements for project design and review of cloud infrastructure and service implementation; conduct capacity planning as needed.
• Develop process improvements as they relate to the cloud environment.
• Responsible for ensuring availability, reliability, and scalability of the cloud infrastructure to meet business demands.
• Create and implement the policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure cloud infrastructure and service security.
• Assess existing environments for opportunities to simplify, automate or introduce increased efficiency to complex technical processes
• Work to maintain the cloud infrastructure security.
• Develop long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future cloud infrastructure needs.
• Participate in budget recommendations.
• Manage and help set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of cloud infrastructure and cloud services.
• Provide solution support and foundational infrastructure configuration changes across all cloud environments.
• Maintain and ensure availability, monitoring and capacity of production and non-production environments.
• Support continuous improvement and innovative DevOps practices for administration, provisioning and deployment including lower environment self-service for developers and testing teams.
• Participate in the testing of cloud infrastructure performance and provide performance statistics and reporting; develop strategies for maintaining cloud infrastructure.
• Manage enterprise directory services and supporting cloud infrastructure.
