The LMHP-E will serve as the liaison for all Medicaid related issues. The LMHP-E will also be responsible for supervising a team of direct care QMPHs, ensuring that all services provided are of the highest quality and that proper documentation is maintained. Duties include performing diagnostic clinical planning and counseling, including individual and family counseling and crisis intervention for adults in home and community settings as needed. Performs clinical case management and participates in all treatment team meetings in accordance with agency policies and procedures. The LMHP-E will be CPR and First Aid certified. In addition the position requires an acceptable driving record, possess a valid driver's license, own and operate an insurable and registered vehicle, one year of behavior management/modification, successful completion of a criminal history, and central registry background investigation.

Position Qualifications

The LMHP-E is a Master’s Level clinician with at least 3 to 5 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults. The LMHP-E must be eligible for Virginia licensure as a LCSW or LPC and must have good knowledge of community-based behavioral health principles, clinical services operations, and psychotherapeutic treatment techniques.

Position Responsibilities

  • Proper and timely documentation of all information required by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and CYFS.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the clinical services and providing clinical supervision and leadership to staff.
  • Supervising a team of Clinicians and direct care counselors.
  • Provides in-service training to Clinicians and QMPHs.
  • Provide referral, follow up, and outreach services as needed
  • Will act on their behalf in their absence or on an as-needed basis for the Clinician/Counselor.
  • Performs initial interviews and diagnostic assessments.
  • Assist in opening reviewing and authorizing assessments, mid-case reviews and/or case termination.
  • Develops clinical service plan.
  • Implements, evaluates, and modifies services plans for all assigned consumers.
  • Performs individual, family, group counseling, and crisis intervention for Day Treatment Services consumers on an as needed basis.
  • Coordinate efforts with program management and help maintain and grow professional relationships with appropriate school officials.
  • Maintain all confidential files of adults, including applications, contracts, psychological and psychiatric reports, social histories, medical information and correspondence.
  • Performs psycho/social assessments.
  • Administer psychological assessments.
  • Formulates and coordinates discharge and aftercare planning on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff regarding the timely reporting of all incidents, infractions, and other issues involving the client’s behavior and other clinical services processes.
  • Participate in the development of the protocols that guide program compliance, expansion, and implementation.
  • Attends all required clinical meetings.
  • Attends all assigned individual and group supervision sessions.
  • When required, provides supervision to program staff.
  • Participates in regular professional development in accordance with discipline and level of skill on an as needed basis.
  • Is available for crisis intervention and family support on an as needed basis.
  • When needed, coordinates case management, discharge, and aftercare planning and referral agencies.
  • Assumes on-call responsibility as necessary.
