Sterling Area Health Center is a comprehensive multidisciplinary health care provider. We will utilize teamwork and partnership with our patients to provide high quality, primary care, dental, and behavioral health services for the entire community, with emphasis on the medically underserved. SAHC proudly operates medical clinic locations in Sterling, Prescott, West Branch and Hale and a dental practice in support of our local community.

We are looking to expand our team and are looking for a Clinical Information Specialist. This position will lead clinical information systems design, implementation and enhancement support to nurses, providers, and allied health professionals throughout the organization. Assesses workflow related processes and requirements and facilitates operational improvements along with system enhancements and modifications to meet clinician requirements. Provides guidance to clinical informatics specialists and analysts, while providing project oversight and direction. Recommends and implements approved system optimizations.

Primary duties include:

· Collaborates with management and clinicians in designing, implementing, and maintaining clinical systems. Assists in the development of design specifications in support of new or modified clinical applications, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

· Documents current processes to establish a baseline for developmental improvements of future workflows. Validates work developed by informaticists and support teams. Analyzes, recommends, and assists with implementing new and improved processes and workflows.

· Participates in potential improvements in current use of systems.

· Supports the integration and use of evidence-based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes.

· Supports data analytics, including quality of care measures, to improve population health outcomes and global health. Supports clinical staff in the real time application of information to change healthcare delivery and affect patient outcomes.

· Model expert clinical informatics practice to inter-professional team members and healthcare consumers.

· Develops and teaches the theory and practice of clinical informatics.

· Experience with NextGen or similar EHR highly desirable.

· Experience with report writing a plus.

This position requires:

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a health discipline, information/analytics, business, or related field OR combination of 2 years’ experience in a position with same or similar primary duties working with clinical information systems within a health care setting

· Comfort with a variety of demographics, situations, and circumstances

· Emotional intelligence and compassion

· Willingness to learn

· Ability to work independently and with a team

· Prior Medical Office experience is preferred but not required.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
