NATURE OF WORK: This professional position is responsible for and provides oversight for the quality of clinical services delivered in all three Divisions. Works in the clinical practice of psychology. Also works to ensure that the short and long term goals of the overall agency are planned and monitored to maintain compliance and to remain fiscally sound. The Director will provide treatment direction and treatment plan supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals. Oversight includes working in both an out-patient setting and in-patient setting with a crisis residential unit, group homes and residential programs with largely rural population clients throughout a four county catchment area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manages services to ensure that client services are in accordance with current published guidelines of the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Maintains a caseload and ensures that client services are in accordance with current published guidelines of the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Manages the caseload to ensure that client services are performed in a timely and efficient manner in compliance with agency guidelines, including service admission and termination of clients.
  • Completes and submits documentation as required by Valley, Medicaid, Waiver, and any other licensing agencies. Employee ensures that documentation is completed accurately and timely and will reflect services the client(s) has received as appropriate.
  • Adheres to agency productivity standards.
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff which includes Division Directors, Supervised Psychologists and other behavioral healthcare professionals assigned using agency guidelines.
  • Attends all mandated trainings related to profession and enhances knowledge and/or skills that supports and helps in the training of new employees.
  • Adheres to Valleys Standards of Conduct and Compliance and follows ethical guidelines of the profession.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, benchmarking professional standards, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Promotes appropriate community interactions by handling public interactions in a professional and competent manner. Returns telephone calls and requests for information in a timely manner, promotes a positive image of the agency and maintains a good rapport with agency contacts.
  • Provides follow-up and revisions of treatment plans as dictated by client progress.
  • Works to maintain the accuracy and integrity of clinical data by recognizing non-compliance factors and identifying and implementing corrective actions.
  • Administers psychological testing and interprets tests results for deviation from normal.
  • Develops, reviews and implements client care plans along with the treatment team to ensure the continuity of care in compliance with Valleys and State guidelines.
  • Participate as a member of the professional interdisciplinary treatment team as client needs dictate.
  • Conducts trainings as required.
  • Performs random audit of services and periodically observes service provided by those clinically supervised.
  • Provides case specific consultation to those clinically supervised.
  • Reviews, revises as necessary and develops Clinical Services Policies and Procedures.
  • Coaches those clinically supervised to do Collaborative Documentation
  • Maintains quality assurance and consumer satisfaction.
  • Maintains communications with other agencies as well as State officials to keep up to date on relevant issues.
  • Supervises all assigned staff through appropriate hiring, training, evaluations, orientation to job specific site/duties, scheduling and delegation.
  • Participates in budgetary development, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Responsible for marketing and community relations for all programs within scope of responsibility.
  • Monitors productivity of employees to meet Valley standards.
  • Works to ensure positive outcomes, including overseeing the development and implementation of outcome evaluation in the areas of productivity and symptom change.
  • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
  • Masters in psychology, social work or counseling from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Current WV Psychology License
  • Five years previous experience in provision of behavioral health services.
  • Five years previous supervisory experience.
  • Ability to develop, effectively communicate and lead organizational strategy
  • Ability to understand financial processes and use information in improving each Divisions' effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ability to link the Divisions to their customer base in a manner that balances mission with revenue and margin requirements
  • Ability to understand and use computer technologies and resulting data for management purposes and to effectively plan and employee technological solutions to help achieve the Divisions' objectives
  • Ability to legally transport clients.
  • Knowledge of West Virginia Medicaid and Behavioral Health Licensure regulations.
  • Ability to comply with Valleys and Division departmental safety procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD in psychology, social work, or counseling from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Five years supervisory experience at the director level or above
  • Knowledge of community resources in Valleys catchment area, including Monongalia, Marion, Preston & Taylor Counties.
