*Salary range reflects starting hourly rate from $18.00/hr. with the opportunity to move to a Driver Pay Plan which rewards highly accurate and productive work by SFS Drivers. This plan is voluntary for any driver as an option to the standard hourly compensation plan and is exempt from overtime per Section 13(b)(1) of the FLSA.

Job summary:

Responsible to provide customers with superior delivery service by delivering within pre-arranged time frames, accurately checking product and customer receipt, and communicating with customers on a professional basis. Drivers are governed by all applicable local, state, and federal laws and must maintain a safe driving record.

Position Identification:

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Start Time: 5am (varies)

Finish Time: 4pm (varies)

Hours per week: 40+

Overtime: As required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Compliance with all applicable DOT regulations including, but not limited to:
• Commercial Vehicle Safety Act, DOT Application, medical exam and certificate, written and driving exam certificate, employment history inquiry, and negative drug test documentation.
• Provide record of accident free, convictions free MVR for past three years and maintain same status.
• Maintain safe operation of specific vehicle as per classifications, compensation and rating system for Class B or C vehicles as applicable.
• Deliver product (generally by hand unloaded by hand cart) to customers assuring proper handling and disposition of product.
• Obtain signature or payment for product per terms specified on invoice of the days’ delivery.
• Maintain professional customer relations.
• Complete paperwork legibly and accurately including invoices, driver’s route sheet (manifest), driver’s log sheet, vehicle condition reports, and credit requests as required.
• Communicate regularly with Day Shipping Supervisor as needed.

Education / Skills:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• One-year Class B/A driving
• Experience operating a standard transmission preferred
• Experience operating 14’-24’ vehicle with 18,000-33,000 pound gross vehicle weight
• Prior delivering experience in a food environment preferred
• Electric pallet jack and manual handcart experience

License(s) / Certificate(s):

• Class C: Standard PA driver’s license
• Class B/A: PA Commercial driver’s license
• Current medical card

Physical Abilities:

• Driving, walking, sitting, standing, bending, operating material handling equipment, lifting and carrying over 100 lbs.

Physical Workspace:

• Temperature ranges between 0-95 degrees.
