Work you'll do/Responsibilities

Junior Network Support Engineer Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing Incident/Tickets, Change/Configuration management/Problem management with root cause analysis of the tickets with Level 2 & Level 3 support
  • Designing and installing well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling from onsite Data Centers
  • Performing troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
  • Testing and configuring software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
  • Configure and support the network components such as Routers, Switches and Access Points, Wireless controllers
  • Responsible for Network Documentation using Visio Tools, MS-Power Point
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of different kind of Access-lists
  • Cisco IOS security features and basic knowledge of security vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks about Implementation, Monitoring and Troubleshooting of Cisco ACS for Authentication, Authorization, and accounting of network equipment.
  • Quickly diagnose and troubleshoot wide range of campus network issues, from end-host connectivity to traffic flows across network core
  • Operate and maintain chassis switches in various redundancy technologies (VSS, HSRP, SSO, vPC)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network outages, network performance issues, or networked application issues
  • Provide support coverage for P1 & P2 incidents after business hours and on-call duties
  • Work onsite at client location in Wichita, KS. Client engages in activity regulated by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Qualifications

Required
  • 1+ years' experience in network administration role. Able to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve network outages, network performance issues, or networked application issues.
  • 1+ years hands-on experience in configuring and managing Datacenter Cisco Nexus Switches (5K,7K,9K). D ata center and wired/wireless campus networking needs
  • Experience in Network Operating Systems (Cisco IOS XE, NX-OS, Aruba/HP) Wireless Networks: Cisco & Aruba APs and Network Controllers, including their authentication integration with Cisco ISE
  • Demonstrable experience in Routing and Switching concept (Cisco / Juniper Platform)
  • Experience with data center and wired/wireless campus networking needs
  • Certifications: CCNA
  • Hands on experience - Hardware Module, Installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting for the following listed Routers and Switches
    • Routers: Cisco 7600, 7500, 7200, 3800, 3700, 3600, 2600, 2900, 1900,1800,1700 series
    • Switches: Nexus 7010, 7009, 9300, 3850 Cisco 3500, 2960 series.
  • Experience operating and maintaining chassis switches, with knowledge of various redundancy technologies (VSS, HSRP, SSO, vPC)
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to Wichita, KS. Relocation bonus available.
  • Be able to work on-site at client office location in Wichita 5 days a week
  • On-call support for P1 & P2 incidents after business hours

Preferred
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of common NMS, configuration management tools
  • Consulting experience
  • Bachelors degree
  • Enterprise Monitoring Tools experience
  • ITSM/Ticketing tool experience
  • Working knowledge in Load balancers technology (Any OEM)
  • Ability to produce RCA of Severity incidents impacting network with minimum support from Superiors/Seniors within team
  • Experience in the development and implementation of network designs according to standards and best practices
  • ITIL
  • DNAC experience
  • MCSE certification
  • Familiar with emerging network technologies; specifically, Cisco DNAC and SD-WAN, AWS networking (Direct Connect/VPCs/Transit Gateways/VPGs/VPNs)
  • Working knowledge in SDWAN.
  • Broadcom Net Ops Monitoring tool skills
  • ServiceNow as an ITSM/Ticketing tool
  • Previous experience with Cisco switches and routers
  • Familiarity with RADIUS, TACACS and AAA methodologies and protocols.
  • Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE
