Job description
Job duties:
- The CSS Parent Locator Specialist for our Richland County office is responsible for reviewing case data submitted by county DSS, court and law enforcement officials to determine accuracy and conformity with agency and federal regulations so that each file is brought to proper conclusion and is responsible for providing general child support enforcement services to clients as required or needed.
Following Agency, State and Federal statutes and policies, evaluates a large volume of correspondence and documents received from PACSS generated inquiries and/or other locate systems and accurately sorts and keys received data into the PACSS system with the appropriate level of detail and within prescribed internal and federal deadlines.
Determines and disseminates received correspondence and documents to the appropriate Regional Office for the county the case resides. These correspondence and documents are than scanned into the Child Support OnBase imaging system to the correct case file without error.
Once a non-custodial parent's address has been verified base on received correspondence and documents, ensures that cases identified by PACSS or themselves are brought to conclusion using the most appropriate closure reason, creates a self-written checklist and schedules the case for the administrative process, if appropriate. If not appropriate, document reasons why.
Contacts appropriate staff of the DSS County Office or TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) Office in need of additional documentation, corrected referrals or when the located specialist suspects fraud or non-cooperation.
Understands and exercise data security and confidentiality in the transfer, disclosure and management of all client and employee personal information.
Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.
Agency Requirements:
A High School Diploma and four (4) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
An Associate's Degree and two (2) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.

Ability to access 4/5 drawer cabinets and/or various filing systems; ability to enter information onto computer. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; have a high tolerance for noise or irate clients, crowded working conditions. Must have valid driver’s license.
