The Chief Pilot will assure operations are consistent with the Federal Aviation Regulations and the standards applicable to Part 91 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the Flight Operations Manual, and any written conditions imposed on the company on the behalf of the FAA. The role will be culpable for department activities including initial and recurrent training, completion of training records, daily management of the pilot group and conducting education seminars that promote safety with continued evolution and improvement.
The Chief Pilot will work directly with the Pilot Operations staff and pilot group to optimize flight time and improve capture efficiencies. The Chief Pilot will conduct & oversee field proficiency checks and be amenable to limited Line Pilot duties coverage as needed. The Chief Pilot will work to refine and tailor the FOM to Pacific Fleet Aviation (PFA) & EV operations. They will also work closely with Aviation Safety to address safety concerns. Responsibilities:

Overview:
EagleView (EV), the leader in aerial imagery, is hiring a Chief Pilot. The Chief Pilot will serve as a key member of the Pilot Operations department and will report directly to the Director of Pilot Operations. The incumbent will have as his/her core responsibility, the training and management of a department of aerial survey pilots. The successful candidate will promote the safe operation of a fleet of fixed-wing aerial survey aircraft while driving performance efficiency.

- Serves as the lead trainer/performance evaluator for all line pilots
- Promotes a culture of safety by actively using and promoting the use of the SMS in place
- Maintains personal proficiency and trains pilots on both aircraft & camera systems with troubleshooting techniques
- Participates in daily operations meetings. Directs and oversees daily pilot assignments
- Provides training and standardization on additional pilot qualifications (Company instructor, FCF pilot, IOE trainer)
- Provides support for departmental improvement initiatives
- Evolves, implements, and maintains company policies, operational standards, and safety procedures
- Develops and enhances pilot training & LMS courses
- Maintains records of licenses, ratings, training, and qualifications of all crew members
- Conducts and supervises proficiency checks of crew members
- Coaches and helps develop airmanship, professional standards, and aeronautical decision-making skills of line pilots
- Defines and implements measures to optimize KPIs for the Pilot Operations department
- Performs administrative tasks directly related to pilots
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and after hours as necessary
- Travel up to 40% of the time (domestic)
- Other duties as assigned
- Current CPL
- Current CFI, MEI ratings
- Current Class 1 Medical
- 1000 hours PIC
- 3000 hours Total Time
- 500 hours Multi-Engine (PIC)
- Must be familiar with Part 91 operating guidelines
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Valid Passport
- Valid Driver’s license
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 5000 hours Total Time
- 1000 hours Multi-Engine (PIC)
- Experience working with lower time pilots
- Robust leadership and management experience
- Instructional background
- Ability to identify disparities and evolve positive results
- Clear written and verbal communications skills
- Robust technical skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly
- Well-organized, dependable, and self-sufficient
- Previous Chief Pilot experience
- Piston aircraft experience
- Experience with aerial survey or photography flying
- Experience flying Piper aircraft
- Manual writing experience
- Remote work environment, skills, and dedicated workspace
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat and/or crawl
- Able to sit without standing for long periods of time
- Capable of lifting or moving items at different heights weighing up to 50 pounds
- Able to adhere to the visual demands set in the medical standards established by the FAA
- Able to hear clearly verbal communications in person, on the telephone, and over a headset with ambient aircraft and radio noise
- Possess the stamina needed to work long days, on sequential days, with frequent change in temperatures, climate, and weather conditions
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in confined environment
- Must be able to sit in pilot’s seat seatbelt and/or shoulder harness fastened without any modifications

The compensation offered to the successful candidate will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s work experience, education and licenses, work-related training, key skills, the core duties of the role and its associated responsibilities, additional benefits offered, and the location where the work will be performed. All Fulltime (30+ hours) employees are eligible for PTO, Sick and Parental Leave; Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance; 401(k) Plan;Health Savings Account and Health Reimbursement Accounts; Life Insurance; Employee Assistance Program. This is a remote, full-time position, with a base compensation range of $133,000 to $160,000, bonus eligible.
