The Community Hospital Group (CHG) VP of Nursing is responsible for nursing practice throughout the CHG hospitals and is responsible to plan, organize, direct and evaluate nursing care. The VP of Nursing works in collaboration with health system leadership and is accountable for engaging employees and medical staff to achieve the organization’s mission. The VP of Nursing has direct responsibility for nursing services at Cox Branson in CHG as well as oversight of nursing services at Cox Monett and Cox Barton County. Working directly with other leaders, the VP of Nursing promotes system integration and high quality interdisciplinary care.

Key Responsibilities in Coordination with the System CNO:
Provides direction for nursing care delivery in CHG by articulating the vision and strategic direction for nursing under the leadership of the System CNO. Ensures the implementation of effective strategies to promote the vision.
Provides direction to CHG nursing leaders in order to promote nursing recruitment and retention
Fosters exceptional patient care, patient safety and an exceptional work-place culture.
Reviews and ensures optimization of staffing models to promote excellence in CHG nursing and resource efficiency.
Fosters a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, and provides leadership in coordinating care across disciplines and entities.
Demonstrates transparency, integrity, and consistency in all interactions and holds leaders accountable as members of the team.
Promotes evidence-based practice, assuring continuity and consistency of nursing care across the organization.
Ensures CHG is in compliance with applicable requirements of CMS, DNV, the State Board of Nursing, Missouri Department of Health and all other applicable regulatory agencies. Seeks recognition beyond required regulatory standards where applicable.
Demonstrates success in improving quality, safety, employee and patient experience within CHG.
Demonstrates consistent performance in effectively leading and influencing colleagues outside of area of direct responsibility to improve patient care.
Demonstrates financial acumen with operating and capital budgets, staffing and productivity, cost reduction and development of financial Pro-formas for new services.
Collaborates with all clinical departments and the administrative VP team to establish goals and hold staff/leaders accountable.
Develops nursing leaders throughout CHG through mentorship and develops strong succession plans for key nursing position under the direction of the System CNO
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Master’s Degree in a Nursing, Business or Healthcare related field
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
Required: At least 5 years’ hospital leadership experience
Skills
Must be able to work effectively with staff, public and external agencies.
Must have the ability to take initiative and to exercise good judgment and decision-making
Problem solving
Critical thinking, conflict management, negotiation and Personnel development
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: MO RN
