Anthony’s Restaurant is a full-service family restaurant located in the Clarion Inn, Elmira, New York. We pride ourselves on a team working environment. Customer service is one of our specialties. We serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and takeout in our restaurant. We are especially known for our Friday Fish Fry. Another specialty that we are known for is our banquets and catering. Whether large or small we pride ourselves on exceeding our customers’ expectations.
- Supervises food production for all food outlets of the hotel and is responsible for high quality food presentation for Restaurant, Lounge and Banquet facilities and Catering.
- Participates in development/updates and costing out of menus for all food services (suggests menu changes and initiates special food promotions).
- Supervises and provides training to food preparation staff in all levels of food preparation, e.g., methods, portioning, garnishing, service specifications, and food preservation.
- Ordering of food and supplies and is knowledgeable quantities to be ordered for restaurant, banquets, and catering events.
- Controls food costs through establishment and management of specials, menus, food production and waste.
- Produce weekly restaurant special menus for both lunch and dinner.
- Conducts monthly inventory of food and supplies.
- Ensures maintenance of all health and sanitation standards.
- Provide assistance to the Sales Department with regard to banquets, parties and other special events.
- Applicants must be available nights, weekends and holidays and must have the proper credentials to complete the hiring process.
- Must have exceptional communication skills

- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with employees
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Ability to multi-task, manage interruptions, establish work priorities, handle stress, and effectively function in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and variable temperatures
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of cooking experience required
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Experience in working efficiently in a high volume, production-oriented environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Physical capabilities for lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Must be able stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and variable temperatures
