Christensen & Giannini, LLC is an established grower of fresh vegetables (row crops) seeking a company CFO all locations. The CFO will be responsible for financial and accounting matters including general ledger closing, planning and budgeting, cost accounting, inventory control, financial reporting, variance analysis, crop accounting, fixed assets, grower accounting, leases, capital projects, working capital and cash flow in accordance with US GAAP.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day financial reporting for operations including developing and maintaining practices and procedures that ensure efficient, accurate, and timely preparation of the general ledger, financial statements including the consolidation of the different divisions/entities, bank compliance reports, budget forecasts, and tax filings.
- Overall supervision of accounting staff, including assigning responsibilities, reviewing work product, organizing teams to meet tight deadlines, and conducting performance appraisals.
- Work with the owners and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
- Ensures that all policies, controls and process improvement activities are consistently applied to support operational requirements.
- Conduct meetings and presentations before executive managers and departmental staff that clearly address accounting procedures and issues. Respond to requests from executive management and department managers regarding financial status reports.
- Work closely with outside information technology (IT) to continuously monitor efficiency, functionality, and performance of all computer systems.
- Provide all information necessary to prepare a clear and timely annual review of the financials.
- Responds to government surveys
- Reviews and finalizes capital expenditure projects
- Serves as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter
- Ensures sales taxes are being accounted for properly
- Recruit, train, and mentor accounting department professionals.
- Establish and sustain a working environment that encourages excellent communications, cooperation, training, education, and innovation within the accounting department and with all other company departments and personnel.
- Oversees the process of Fixed asset purchases and disposals
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance requires.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- Eight to ten years of experience in financial management requires.
- A comprehensive understanding of GAAP and experience with resolving GAAP and tax related issues,
- At least five years of progressive and diversified experience as a senior managing accounting professional at a company engaged in agriculture, manufacturing, or manufactured product distribution with significant domestic and international revenues.
- Experience with accounting systems that utilize profit centers, subsidiary ledgers, and inventory integration.
- Strong Excel experience mandatory.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including an outstanding quantitative ability to identify and articulate detailed accounting issues, provide clear analyses, and offer creative solutions.
- Keen collaboration and negotiation skills, including experience diplomatically developing policies and initiatives in partnership with colleagues and other senior executives.
- Experience with creating and giving internal and external presentations before small and large groups of colleagues and executive managers.
- Ability to lead by example creating a work environment that fosters teamwork, prioritizes multiple tasks, and establishes accountability.
- Highest levels of ethics and integrity, exceptional work ethic, high organizational skills, low ego, good sense of humor, strength of conviction without stubbornness, and humility to constructively accept criticism.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.

Pay: $209,830.92 - $222,494.44 per year
