Job description: The certified nursing assistant provides personal care assistance to customers as directed. Demonstrates ability of administering complete/partial customer baths. This would include bath, oral care, dentures, Foley care, hair/nail care, and shaving, bed making and cleaning of utensils used.
Assists in the toileting needs of the customers, records outputs accurately. Empties drainage collection devices and completes documentation of BM Book, toileting scheduling, Rehab and nourishment.
Follows Facility protocol for admission documentation. Demonstrates skill in the nursing process. HIPAA Competency – Protects customer’s privacy by insuring customer charts or items with customer data with protected health information (PHI) are not left unattended or left opened. Demonstrates ability to read, understand and follow individual customer care plans.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as a CNA in North Carolina
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies personnel, and the general public
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability, and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
Experience:
- Current NC CNA License.
- Experience in long-term care preferred
