JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant
AREA: Arcis Healthcare, Lowcountry Orthopaedics (all locations)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording of vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and medication preparation as directed by the physician.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Clinical Manager
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP: None
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required; Associates Degree in Applied Science preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least two years of medical assisting experience in a physician’s office or hospital; training in Orthopaedic assisting preferred.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: CMA certification required.
