Exciting opportunity working within our Catalysis business unit that has the ability to reside in either Louisville, KY or Houston, TX areas. You will be mainly responsible for the global technology management of our core catalyst application for technical competitiveness across Syngas portfolio working with Ammonia, Hydrogen or Methanol. This management would include but not limited to: serving as a liaison for our global customers, support of our energy transition paths, knowledge management, technical troubleshooting/support and relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for owning the technical design guidelines that are fundamental for competitiveness of quotes
• Manage the consolidation of customer performance feedback for R&D input
• Handle all catalyst benchmarking within application
• Serve as owner of performance evaluation templates
• Manage the technical interaction with strategic licensors to qualify our products for new capacity projects, while handling catalyst choice for licensor proposals
• Consult selected large customers for plant performance optimization
• Responsible for presentation of technical proposals to selected large customers
• Run trainings for sales and technical service tem to serve 1800 customers/prospects and 16 core products, will also run customer webinars and customer trainings
• Will be responsible for the establishment of Clariant Catayst Academy
• Coach sales/engineering team for key customer interactions (claims, large negtations)
• Control quality of technical quotations, recommendations & performance evaluations
• Will have a large conttribution to Innovation sales (product launch, value proposition) and to ideation sessions to generate innovation leads

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry/Engineering Technology (PHD would be a plus) and significant technical experience.
• Minimum 5 years in technical role with a sense of commercial skills and leadership capabilities or technical experience at customer operations.
• Experience within Syngas catalyst with hands on experience with either Ammonia or Methanol would be a major plus.
• Proactive mindset with a hands on, serve first mentality.
• We require excellent communication skills both oral and written for this role.
• Several years of work and leadership or senior technical leadership within Clariant would be a plus.
