What you will do?

As the Caseworker you will be responsible for the planning and treatment of individual children, a family, or assigned groups by performing a variety of regular tasks. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing a care plan for each child containing goals and objectives with projected dates of accomplishment .
  • Involving the clients, referral agency and family in planning whenever possible
  • Developing a specific plan relating to the involvement of the child’s parents.
  • Participating in the documentation of case assessment.
  • Documenting the implementation of the care plan.
  • Providing for scheduled in-person conferences with each resident.
  • Providing a supportive atmosphere for the youth with leadership and guidance to the client.
  • Coordinating internal and external activities of the youth.
  • Serving as a liaison with the referring agency.
  • Providing a mechanism for dealing with day-to-day program operations.
  • Oversees and maintains general health and well-being of the child
  • Overseeing the living activities of the child.
  • Monitoring and recording behaviors on a daily basis.

What you need:

To qualify you need a Bachelor's Degree in social work or a degree in a human services related field plus two years of experience in child welfare or a Master's Degree in Human Services is required. Prior experience in working with Foster and Adoptive families is required. Additional requirements include:

  • Able to be self driven/reliant and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to show empathy/compassion to build trust based relationships
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
