Board of Child Care (BCC) is not a federal or state agency. It is an independent not-for-profit organization that serves over 1,000 children annually across 12 locations. You would join about 800 teammates across DC, MD, PA, and WV that empower youth and their families to flourish within their community.
What does this job do specifically?

- Maintain daily & weekly communication with students’ families/teams, to include but not limited to: email and/or phone notifications of serious incidents, follow-up on documentation needs (such as consent packets and MA billing requirements), send email confirmation of scheduled IEP meetings.
- Maintain effective communication regarding student updates to school staff, such as school administrators, classroom staff, and clinical team.
- Provide customer service and maintain effective working relationships with families, students, and community agencies.
- Locate and facilitate referrals to community-based resources within the student’s community, as well as psychiatric services through BCC.
- Support the new student admission process by following up on missing documentation and ensuring parents, guardians, or other students’ team members submit necessary enrollment information.
- Participate in IEP meetings, school meetings, treatment team meetings, as needed.
- Provide and document the delivery of monthly Service Coordination, per MSDE/MA standards, for eligible students.
- Complete required documentation and reports within the defined timelines, including case management notes.
- Conduct student transition goal interviews with students.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop IEP transition activity goals.
- Attend IEP meetings to report progress on transition activity goals, as needed.
- Invite local agencies (such as DORS, DDA, etc.) to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Obtain Agency Linkage consent from parent/guardians and parent surrogates. Assist families with completing Agency Linkage forms, as needed.
- Attend transition planning trainings of local school districts, as needed.
- Obtain and maintain certification as a “user” in BCC’s electronic health record software system.
What shifts would I work? Are full time positions available?
This is a full-time, 11-month position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may require flexible work hours to include occasional evenings, on-site and off-site attendance at meetings. Eligible for flex schedule within the pay week. This position is non-essential during weather-related emergencies.
Required Education
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 years’ experience in providing direct services to children/youth and families.
Other Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university and at least two years providing direct services to youth and families, ideally in a school setting.
