JOB SUMMARY:
To provide low-income families with the skills necessary to attain living wage jobs.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  • Analyze budget allocations for Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs and intensive classes (serving justice-involved, internationally trained professionals, and onsite workplace learners) to plan, develop, and implement IET and intensive services that meet the requirements of our funder(s) (Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) being the primary funder at this time).
  • Evaluate (IET) and intensive programs implemented and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Supervise the Career Pathways team of Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas (CAI).
  • Regularly meet with Career Pathways team throughout the year to plan new IET/Workplace classes, track post-exit measures, ensure progress testing of students, and communicate new regulations and guidance from TWC.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, school districts, libraries, Workforce Solutions offices, public housing authorities, Head Start and Early Head Start programs, chambers of commerce, churches, and other community agencies for the purpose of recruiting students and providing career pathway classes.
  • Attend all staff meetings, professional development workshops, conferences, in-service, and TWC meetings as they relate to CAI’s career pathways program, including IET and workplace programming.
  • Work with Adult Ed Director and community partners to develop marketing and recruitment strategies intended to inform the public of the availability of Career pathway adult education services.
  • Provide regular reports to Adult Ed Director that detail number of students with 12 or more hours, credentials attained, measurable skills gains, student success stories, and current challenges.
  • Promote Career Pathways recruitment among adult education staff to elicit their ideas, support, and participation in outreach efforts for the program.
  • Serve as point of contact to give and receive referrals to and from Vocational Rehabilitation and Workforce Solutions.
  • Follow up with students and collaborating partners to track progress made toward completion of set goals.
  • Ensure Career Pathways programs are compliant with TWC regulations and intervene immediately if there are problems.
  • Ensure all IET classes have the three components of instruction including contextualized basic education, workplace readiness, and technical skills training as evidence by a unified class syllabus.
  • Submit all required and/or requested documentation or reports by assigned due dates.
  • Assist with the Transition Out of Poverty program as directed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Masters’ degree in Adult Education, Social Work or related field
  • Experience working at or with the Texas Workforce Commission or Workforce Solutions
  • Bilingual English/Spanish in all skills
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work or related field
  • Two years’ experience working in a state-funded Adult Education program
  • Two years’ supervisory experience
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English in all skills
Other Requirements:
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Access to reliable transportation during working hours
  • Vehicle Insurance (Personal Injury and liability)
