Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara is seeking facilitators for our Elementary and Teen Summer Camp Programs at our Goleta Valley Center.

Summer Camp Facilitator Essential Job Functions Include:
· Creating, preparing for, and facilitating daily hands-on and intentional activities for a group of 14 girls, within our Core Essential Services (Healthy Living, Academic Enrichment and Support, and Life Skills)
·Content areas can include: art, STEM, cooking, athletics, outdoor adventures, financial literacy, social emotional learning, girls and women in history, etc.
· Ensuring girls safety, both physically and emotionally, though active supervision while they participate in structured program activities, offsite field trips, lunch and snack time and informal program time
· Keeping accurate records of attendance
· Evaluating programs for effectiveness of intended outcomes
· Being a mentor and leader setting a positive example and role model for the girls
· Participating in staff trainings, meetings, and events
· Maintaining organization and cleanliness of programming areas, resources, and supplies
· Creating a pro-girl environment
· Interacting with families in a positive and welcoming way
· Adapting and abiding to the changing COVID 19 policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
· 1 full year of work experience working with youth in a structured educational setting
· 12 college level units in early childhood education or any of the following comparable areas: sociology, psychology, art, music, dance, drama, recreation
· Ability to pass criminal background check or Clean criminal record
· Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening
· Vaccinations as required by State Law for licensed child care facilities (TB, Pertussis and Measles
immunization. Flu vaccine recommended, but optional).
· We require COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for all employees. Exemptions may be requested for medical reasons or religious beliefs
· Strong communication skills and ability and desire to work as a team member of a diverse and dynamic team
Position Logistics:
· Summer Camp Operates June 19th – August 11th –staff must be available to work all 8 weeks (preferred)
· Monday- Friday – staff must be available to work all 5 days (preferred)
· Tentative Shifts: 7:30am-3:30pm or 10:00am-5:30pm
· Mandatory Staff Trainings
◦ Tuesday June 6th – Thursday June 8th 9:00am – 4:00pm (in person, flexible with school schedules)
◦ Tuesday June 13th – Thursday June 15th 9:00am – 4:00pm (in person, flexible with school schedules)
◦ First Aid & CPR Monday June 5th or Monday June 12th9:00am-4:00pm
Pay:
· $17.50-19.50 per hour depending on experience and education
