We are seeking a Shorex Business Manager to be responsible for the P&L, with the goal of growing take rate for shore excursions, growing the profitability for the business, defining pricing / revenue management, co-leading long-term demand forecast, supporting vendor management, and exceeding guest expectations.
They will be responsible for the price architecture, promotion and developing a demand-based pricing model for shore excursions. They also work highly integrated with the Targeted Marketing and Pre-cruise teams to define, launch and analyze effectiveness of promotions. This role includes pricing benchmarking with competitors, internet distributors. The manager also builds business cases to negotiate new incentives with tour operator that include differentiated cost with operators based on seasonality, exclusivity, etc. Manage the execution of new agreements. The interface with all sister brands is also strong to exchange best practices in revenue management.
They will co-build the long-term plan for inventory based on deployment strategy for the company. This role works integrated with the Product management team to provide insights on Port Improvement Processes and also define needs to secure with the operators in terms of exclusivity and capacity. This role will also follow competitive moves and analyze market data to identify trends and opportunities, develops strategic direction from market information. Lead Carnival Corporation Port detail development and business case requirements and support investments / M&A evaluations wherever is required for strategic partners and ports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop price architecture and a demand-based pricing for shore excursions by port and itinerary, integrated with the demand forecast model and the allocations received
- Build business cases to negotiate new incentives with tour operator that include differentiated cost with operators based on seasonality, exclusivity, etc.
- Manage the execution of new agreements
- Identify opportunities for Dynamic Pricing in the mid/long-term (strategy, IT requirements, governance, implementation)
- Define, evaluate, launch and analyze success metrics for various campaigns, trials, pricing and promotions, bundles tests, both for Pre-cruise and for Targeted Marketing
- Co-lead Port Improvement processes with Product Managers
- Define portfolio and pricing gaps, understand market trends and identify business opportunities to invest or partner
- Monitor the performance of all shore excursion offerings for quality, guest satisfaction and overall impact on the program
- Lead Carnival Corporation Port detail development and business case requirements
- This includes definition of experiences, ROI/business cases, and requests of shorex experiences
- Identify acquisition/investments targets to secure exclusivity or preferential allocations for shore excursions product in non-CarnCorp ports, develop the investment strategy negotiate terms and conditions of potential deals
- Co-lead demand forecast model and allocations for our tour portfolio including but not limited to: new product development, current offerings optimization, contract negotiation, tour allocations, launch of new ports, supplier relations. predictive models to forecast future inventory needs based on known CCL and sister brand deployment, plus expectations of other cruise lines
- Include impact of historical purchase patterns and expectations of guest segmentation in future
- Establish and maintain relationship with all sister brands to help identify needs and support each brand strategic vision on North American ports in terms of pricing, port improvement, portfolio management, demand forecast and allocations
- Support VP/Director on preparation of business cases for Capital Expenditures and major business improvements
- Evaluate return on investment for loans to tour operators
- Less than 25% ship and shore-based travel
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, finance, business, experience in Statistics, Inventory Management, Financial modelling, Mergers and Acquisitions
- 5+ years total experience including a combination of
- Business development and management, and performance tracking
- Designing and implementing business plans and initiatives in complex organization
- Exposed to a variety of industries
- High pace environment like management consulting, private equity or start-ups
- A strong intellect and the ability tap into the taste level of the Carnival customer
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be flexible and adapt, as well as resilience and resourcefulness
- A proactive style combined with a high energy level
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures
- High-level proficiency with financial statement analysis and M&A (merger and acquisition) modeling
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Organizational skills to coordinate action plans and implement actionable strategies
- Excellent presentation skills to deliver effective and informative material

The range for this role’s base salary is $85,000 - $105,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
