Business Development Manager
Orion Environmental, Inc., a leading environmental remediation and demolition company, is seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. As a growing company with a strong reputation in the industry, we are looking for an experienced professional with a background in construction or environmental services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and excel at multitasking and problem-solving. This position is based in our Brighton/Denver, CO office, and will involve developing new sources of project leads and maintaining current account relationships to ensure Orion remains the preferred choice for their project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth in the commercial construction industry by identifying new markets and developing leads. Working closely with the management team, you will define ideal targets for Orion and develop strategies to reach them. In this role, you will also maintain regular contact with potential clients, building and nurturing relationships through networking and participation in industry sales and marketing groups and events. By effectively promoting Orion's services and value proposition, you will help the company to achieve its growth goals and maintain its position as a leading environmental remediation and demolition company.
- Independently identify and develop new client business opportunities by pursuing strategic clients in key market segments.
- Analyze client needs and processes, become proficient in Orion’s services and identify how they can benefit the client's business operations and competitive position.
- Research and evaluate new markets and partnership opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, participation with various industries, professional groups, Economic Development Agencies, and networking associations.
- Develop periodic marketing plans, including organizational structure, marketing materials, market research, public relations, advertising strategy, project types, and other relative opportunities and goals
- Define and implement business development plans to successfully achieve opportunities within each market segment. Conduct research on the industry, market, and competition, and identify customer needs. Ensure strategic objectives of each market segment are well understood and executed.
- Prudently manage resources within budgetary guidelines according to company policy.
- Collaborate with management to prepare and implement business development plans and strategies
- Attend and participate in focused client meetings, outings, and events to establish and maintain key client relationships.
- Identify market segments with long-term business opportunities
- Facilitate a key account plan
- Research and develop client contacts to identify and prioritize potential customers.
- Track marketing and business development opportunities and customer relationships through software.
- Coordinate and assist in the creation of proposal responses and the interview process in conjunction with the Proposal Department and assigned project team.
- Early identification of projects prior to competitors and the release of formal RFPs or award processes, including monitoring industry news and trends, attending relevant events, and establishing relationships with potential clients and industry influencers.
- Maintenance, creation, updating, etc. of Orion’s publications such as, Statement of Qualifications package, website, social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Assure high-quality response to RFQs and RFPs
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Based in Denver, CO
- Able to travel to other Orion branches for BD work
- 3+ yrs. experience in B2B sales/business development (prior experience selling leads/ lead services)
- A track record with prospecting and setting appointments and/or demos with decision makers
- Outstanding communication skills, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Experience with prospecting/cold calling
- Experience with Zoom, Google Suites, Microsoft Suits, CRM software
- Valid driver’s license and able to commute between calls
- Knowledge of construction practices, pricing, estimating, preconstruction, and fee structures.
- Oral and written communication skills, influencing others, providing a high level of service after the sale, and communicating to variety of audiences necessary.
- Must be self-motivated, creative, and take personal enjoyment in the process of deal-making.

Full-time, permanent, exempt
Salary:
$75,000-$95,000/year based on experience, plus bonus potential
