JOB SUMMARY
The Business Analyst with collaborate with the Applications Manager to understand organizational and operational challenges. Keep up to date on the latest applications of information technology and implement new IT operations. Assisting with ensuring the efficiency, stability, security and accessibility of all supported applications. Assist with developing the procedures for use and support and manages the escalation of service requests and problems related to applications support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Works with the Applications manager in the formulation of new policies, procedures, and standards as new technologies are deployed.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed, comprehensive, technical, and functional requirement studies; evaluating existing or proposed systems to assist in decision making.
  • Works with users and developers to gather specifications for new applications as well as changes to existing applications.
  • Manages projects through full program life cycle; coordinates, leads, and documents projects meetings and works with user departments to manage action items and timelines.
  • Proactively recognizes business problems and implements technology-based solutions.
  • Coordinates, plans, and executes vendor software and database system upgrades/patches at the direction of the software vendor.
  • Configures, supports, troubleshoots, and administers specific business applications.
  • Monitors technology trends and innovation that leverage opportunities to increase business processes efficiency.
  • Develops and prepares system design documents at the system or subsystem level.
  • Prepares detailed procedural documentation on use of various software applications as it relates to current users.
  • Coordinates and conducts in house training sessions and/or coordinates vendor training sessions for users.
  • Monitors Town’s internet website and request updates or submit break fix tickets as needed.
  • Performs related tasks as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and five (5) years of related work experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience:
  • Preferred programming experience
  • Preferred Software Quality Assurance experience
  • Preferred SDLC experience and/or formal education
  • Preferred project management experience and/or formal education
  • Preferred SQL/ Oracle DBA experience
  • Valid South Carolina Drivers License
  • Ability to pass security background for access to SLED database.
