The Business Agility Scrum Master is a critical member of the Business Agility COE in KC North America (KCNA), responsible for removing impediments and ensuring that the Agile team adheres to the principles and practices of the appropriate Agile methodology. They function as coaches, facilitators, and servant leaders, working closely with cross-functional Agile teams to help them work together effectively, collaborate efficiently, and continuously improve to achieve more successful project outcomes.

As the Scrum Master, you will facilitate various team meetings, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to ensure that the team is aligned and working towards the same goals. You will identify and remove obstacles or roadblocks that may hinder the team's progress, enabling them to work more efficiently and deliver high-quality Agile products and solutions that delight our customers and consumers. You will help the team adopt an agile mindset while staying focused on their project goals, ensuring they remain motivated and productive. Their ability to interface with all levels of leadership ensures that the team has the necessary support and resources to perform their work effectively.

You will create a fun, collaborative, and productive Agile environment that enables the team to achieve its project goals and deliver value faster to the customer. Their expertise and guidance help drive the success of the Agile team and the overall success of the KCNA business.

Geographic Locations: Must be located near one of our offices in Roswell, GA, Neenah, WI, or Chicago, IL

In this role you will:

  • Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile methods and best practices to promote the adoption of the Agile mindset and increase efficiency and effectiveness to build high-performing teams

  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies in accordance with the Agile methodology for the project

  • Function as a servant leader to the team and ensure they have everything they need to be successful

  • Remove impediments in a timely manner to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products and solutions that meet customer needs within the desired timelines

  • Be a thought partner with the Product Owner to help prioritize the most important work items in the product backlog and help the team break down larger user stories into smaller, manageable tasks.

  • Monitor the team's velocity and capacity, ensuring they work at a sustainable and productive pace and deliver high-quality products on time

  • Monitor and communicate progress against the team's goals, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress and any issues or risks

  • Implement change management strategies to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of new processes and practices

  • Organize and lead retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and foster a culture of continuous improvement

  • Assess the organization's agility, identify areas for improvement, and bring in industry-leading best practices and tools to stay at the forefront of business agility

  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrum (SoS) meetings with multiple teams to ensure cross-team coordination and alignment

  • Share knowledge and best practices with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to help drive Agile adoption and transformation across the organization

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as an Agile Scrum Master, certified by a recognized Agile organization such as Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, or Marketing) with a specialization in project management

  • Experience managing change on large projects, programs, or initiatives, certified by a recognized change management organization such as Prosci

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, along with expertise in agile methodologies, business agility, and project management

  • Proven experience leading sizable, high-value innovation projects as a Scrum Master in large matrix organizations and interfacing with executive leadership

  • Business acumen and a deep understanding of the KCNA organization's business model and products

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and critical thinking skills to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement

  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, business agility, and project management (Scrum, Kanban, Lean), and experience using Agile tools such as Microsoft Azure or Planner

  • Excellent interpersonal communication with stakeholders at all levels, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence without authority and inspire servant leadership

  • Experience in virtual meeting facilitation, developing, distributing, and analyzing advanced user experience surveys

  • Familiarity with Agile best practices from industry-leading consultants such as Bain, McKinsey, CEB, BCG, and Gartner

  • Availability to travel 15-20%

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of lean principles or Six Sigma

  • Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodology

  • Red Team Thinking certification
