As one of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)'s top contractors, ISS is seeking a Budget Support Specialist to support the Atlantic Oceanographic & Meteorological Laboratory (AOML).
Where you will be: This role is primarily remote, however, you would need to be in the AOML office if requested as back-up for other team members. The AOML office is located at 4301 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL 33149.
What you will do:
- Maintain journal or subsidiary ledgers in an accounting system and balance and reconcile accounts.
- Reconcile budget execution information with accounting data and resolving variances, preparing documents for cost adjustments. Preparing reports that compare.
- Monitor and track all MOU and Reimbursable Agreements and provide information to the appropriate govern AOML taskers, as necessary, to compile a response by the requested date and time.
- Coordinate/prepare budget formulation narratives, exhibits, questions and answers, and any other required documents for the submission of formal budget.
- Perform specialized analyses using historical expenditure data and program execution data to forecast future budgetary needs.
- Monitor project codes reviewing balances and funds availability.
- Reconcile accounts and provide status updates. Provide full status of funds report to division directors with reports explaining account status, and expenditure review.
- Serve as the administrative POC for the maintenance of fiscal information for the laboratory.
- Review invoices and statements verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated and/or analyzes and reconciles computer printouts with operating unit reports, taking action to ensure that accounts balance.
- Support the property custodian in maintenance and disposition of government property.
- Support property custodian in the issuance of printed hand receipts, collect signatures and facilitate the update of information.
- Act as timekeeper and review, monitor, and maintain that timecards to ensure that they are complete, accurate, and have been validated in accordance to established deadlines.
- Enter default accounting, entering new employees into the system, resetting passwords, completing leave audits, correcting errors, changing alternative schedules, reminding all Federal employees' of deadlines for time and attendance submittals. Run reports as needed.
- Field WebTA procedures or regulation questions from Federal employees.
- Reconcile purchase cards in the Admin System.
- Act as on-site back-up to ISS admin team when teammates need to be out of the office.
What you bring:
- Three (3) years of experience in preparing for and maintaining budgeting, preferably in the government space
- Experience reviewing budgeting reports
- A working knowledge of budgeting technologies and the ability to learn new ones
- Skilled in basic project management to include properly handling, developing, ranking, systematizing and synchronizing tasks to meet goals and deadlines

The admin stuff: You must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a Public Trust investigation from the U.S. government.
