Telco Plus Credit Union in Longview, Texas, is looking for a full-time Bookkeeper. Basic computer skills and a customer service mindset are required. The correct candidate needs to be detail-oriented, careful with their quality of work, good with numbers, and a fast learner. Experience in Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and General Ledger (G/L) balancing would be a definite plus towards success.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepares general ledger journal entries
- Conducts limited-scope financial transactions
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Performing general ledger account reconciliations, sub-ledger balancing
- Prepares reports with assistance from others
- Manages prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accruals where needed
- Posts dividends as approved
- Cross-train with other employees in the department to ensure all tasks are completed in a backup capacity
- Completes other tasks as requested by Management
REQUIRED Qualifications & Skills
- Great attention to detail, works carefully with few errors
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, and 10-key calculator by touch
- Ensures the timely and accurate reporting of all financial information
- Very organized individual with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to meet required deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
- Solid work ethic -- a self-starter that is able to work with minimal supervision and takes direction well
- A positive attitude to best serve our membership and other employees
- Must follow Credit Union policies for compliance with all laws and regulations and shows discretion with confidential information
- Must work cooperatively in a team environment with other staff members
PREFERRED Qualifications & Skills
- Undergraduate (4-year) degree in accounting
- Credit Union or Bank Accounting experience
Physical Demands / Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision for computer work and the ability to adjust focus from computer to member interface.
The work environment is a non-CPA financial services office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While safety precautions are in place, due to the nature of the financial services industry, robbery is a possibility.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
